A partnership rummy game played with five or six decks. Each player gets two hands: the hand, which you play first, and the foot, which you pick up once your hand is gone.
Setup
- Partners sit across from each other. Each player gets two piles of 11 cards: one hand and one foot. Don't look at the foot.
- Jokers and 2s are wild. Threes can't be melded: red threes score 100 when laid down, and black threes are only for discarding.
Your turn
- Draw two cards from the stock, or take the top seven of the discard pile if you can use the top card with two matching cards from your hand.
- Lay down melds of three to seven cards of the same rank. Natural cards must outnumber wilds.
- Discard one card to end your turn. When your hand is empty, pick up your foot and keep playing.
Books
- A book is a completed meld of seven cards.
- A clean book (red book) has no wild cards. A dirty book (black book) has at least one.
- Most tables require two clean and two dirty books before a team can go out.
